Athletes Supporting Advocacy & Prevention (A.S.A.P.) is a Gopher Leadership Group made up of athletes who are committed to preventing sexual misconduct and supporting survivors.
SMPP prepares A.S.A.P. members from each Gopher Athletics team to facilitate their team’s required annual sexual violence prevention training on topics from healthy relationships to cultivating a team culture that prevents sexual violence. Members meet monthly between October and January to review the training curriculum, customize it for their team, and prepare to facilitate their team’s training alongside SMPP staff. By leading their training, A.S.A.P. members develop public speaking and leadership skills and actively create a more preventative culture within their teams.
